Capcom has stated that they have officially decided to cancel the release of Resident Evil: Zero on the Nintendo 64. The game is reported to be in an advanced stage of development but Capcom's focus will now be shifted to releasing the game on the upcoming Nintendo Gamecube.

Resident Evil: Zero takes place a day before the events in the original Resident Evil and concentrates on another member of the familiar S.T.A.R.S. team. Judging by screenshots and the small amount of information currently available it appears to be another helping of zombies, spookiness and Capcom's expert take on the survival horror genre.
