Sony has announced the September lineup for its PlayStation Plus service, with Destiny 2 turning heads for being available a week early.
The timing coincides with the free 24 hour trial of Destiny 2: Forsaken's upcoming PvE/PvP mode, Gambit. The trial will go live on September 1 at 10am PDT (that's 5am on September 1st for us Kiwis).
In Gambit, players race to gather resources from enemy NPCs, while a rival faction of players attempt to do the same. At certain point counters, portals will open, allowing teams to send one of their players through to 'invade' the enemy team's zone and wreak havoc. First to gather enough resources to spawn the boss and defeat it win the match.
Destiny 2: Forsaken releases next week on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Also included in September's lineup for PlayStation Plus:
- God of War III: Remastered (PS4)
- Another World - 20th Anniversary (PS3, Cross Buy with PS4 & Vita)
- QUBE Director's Cut (PS3, Cross Buy with PS4)
- Sparkle 2 (Vita, Cross Buy with PS3 & PS4)
- Foul Play (Vita, Cross Buy with PS4)
It's nice to see some big-budget titles making their way back to the PlayStation Plus lineup. Feels like it's been a while since the collection has been given some Triple-A love.
As with all PlayStation Plus games, they're free to own for as long as your subscription is active.
