US President Donald Trump will meet with executives from the video game industry to talk about violent games, the White House has announced.
The meeting is a reaction to last month’s shooting in Florida that left 17 dead.
It’s not clear who Trump plans to meet, but I've cleared my schedule just in case.
Last week, Trump said during a live-streamed meeting with lawmakers that "something has to be done" about violence in games because "the level of violence on video games is shaping more and more people's thoughts".
"It's so incredible," he continued. "I get to see things that you wouldn't be—you would be amazed at. I have a very young son who I look at some of the things he's watching and I say, 'How is that possible?'"
In 2013, US President Barack Obama called for more research into the effects of violent video games on children, and that led to a number of Senators making some staggeringly uninformed statements on the topic.
