World of Tanks is getting a campaign mode.
Dubbed "War Stories", the mode will launch tomorrow, and is exclusive to World of Tanks on console.
War Stories can be played solo and in co-op, and according to Wargaming, will allow gamers to relive historical events, discover alternate histories, and play out fantasy campaigns.
There will be two campaigns of three chapters each. "Brothers in Armor" focuses on Red Army soldiers fighting on the Eastern Front in Western Sherman tanks and serves as a tutorial for incoming players, while "Flashpoint Berlin" follows a British solider trying to break through a Cold War-era Berlin blockade.
Two additional stories are on the horizon: an Axis invasion of Great Britain, and a fight for the fate of humanity on the brink of nuclear war in an alternate ending of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Each campaign features animated comic strips from Andi Ewington, artwork from PJ Holden and Matt Timson, a new score composed by Inon Zur (Fallout, Dragon Age).
War Stories will run on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
