Sony has announced that PlayStation Plus subscriptions will be increasing in price for the European region, including Australia and New Zealand.

From August 31, New Zealand monthly prices will increase from $11.95 to $12.95, while quarterly prices will go from $32.95 to $39.95.

The annual subscription fee of $89.95 will remain unchanged.

These changes mimic the same increases seen last September in the American market. At that time Sony stated the changes were to "reflect various market conditions."

Since the launch of the PlayStation 4, an active PlayStation Plus subscription has been required to access online multiplayer for the majority of the console's titles. The service also provides free games monthly for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita, as well as cloud storage for save game files.

Those looking to save a few bucks can stock up on subscription packages now, as those purchased now will add onto the end of any active subscription.
