Ghost Recon: Wildlands' much speculated PvP mode has now been confirmed, and is releasing later this year.

Titled 'Ghost War', the mode will pit players against each other in a 4v4 team deathmatch.

An open beta will be coming to all platforms later this winter, with the full mode releasing in a free update this spring.

In its announcement, developer Ubisoft Paris stated that the mode would feature "large-scale, open maps" and would introduce new tactical mechanics, including suppressing fire and sound markers.

Squads will choose from a roster of classes to fill specific roles within a match.

Ghost War is just the latest free update announced for Wildlands. The latest patch to go live, Update 6, offered better flight control, and introduced different characteristics between Blackhawks, Gunships, and small helicopters.
