Upcoming Sony racer Gran Turismo Sport will launch with Bathurst's iconic Mount Panorama motor racing circuit included.

Bathurst is the home of Australian motorsport, and has a rich history dating back to 1938, when the Australian Grand Prix was first held on the track.

Mount Panorama is now home to the FIA accredited Bathurst 12 Hour and Bathurst 1000 races, among others.

According to Sony, the team at Polyphony painstakingly recreated the four mile circuit, bringing to life every twist, turn and incline using "next generation 3D modelling technology and rendering".

Gran Turismo Sport launches this spring, and is a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Bathurst was included in Gran Turismo 6, which led to a road on the Mount Panorama circuit being renamed "Gran Turismo Drive".

The legendary Bathurst track also featured in Forza Motorsport 5.
