EA's Motive Studios team just got even more high-powered, with the addition of Portal lead designer Kim Swift.

Motive and Visceral Games general manager Jade Raymond revealed Swift's hire - as a design lead - via the EA Motive website.

In addition to Portal (whose prototype, Narbacular Drop, she was also involved in producing), Swift has worked on a number of other games throughout her career, including both released Left 4 Dead games, Quantum Conundrum, and Soul Fjord.

Swift joins the Montreal-based team in developing Motive's mostly unrevealed Star Wars "swashbuckling" action-adventure game.

That team is already coming together as something of a supergroup, including Assassin's Creed's Raymond heading the studio and Uncharted creator Amy Hennig directing.

"[Kim's] first question to me: 'When can I set up the Frostbite engine and start prototyping?' shows a hands-on approach that we value here at Motive," said Raymond in the announcement.

The untitled Star Wars game is due in 2018.
