A new Spider-Man game is in the works at Insomniac Games for PS4, Sony announced yesterday at its E3 2016 press conference.
Discussing the game on the PlayStation Blog, Insomniac said the game would "introduce new elements that players have never experienced with Spider-Man, ranging from traversing with parkour and utilising the environment, to new combat and blockbuster set-pieces."
Insomniac has a long-standing relationship with Sony, having developed its Ratchet & Clank series exclusively for PlayStation consoles.
The untitled game is the first in Insomniac's 22-year history from a licensed IP, and the first Spider-Man title without Activision as a publisher.
It is not connected to any specific film or comic release.
The game will release exclusively on PlayStation 4, although a release date is yet to be confirmed.
