Sony will unveil a virtual reality headset at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next week, reports Edge.
The magazine has based its report an anonymous third-party developer. Edge's insider claims to have received a prototype version of the headset.
According to Edge, Sony's VR headset is more powerful than the Oculus Rift, although perhaps unsurprisingly, very little software currently exists for it.
Edge's source further claimed that Sony was not putting any pressure on its first-party studios to add VR functionality to games.
Sony's GDC presentation, wafflingly entitled "Driving the future of innovation", takes place on March 18, PST.
