The PlayStation Vita will receive a price cut sometime next year, Sony UK boss Fergal Gara has confirmed.
Exactly when and how much was still under discussion.
"We always aim to establish price cuts. So the question is not so much if, but when,” Gara told Eurogamer.
“We won't have an across the board price down this Christmas. But what you will see us doing is working very hard with our retail partners to add value to the product to make it more compelling.”
In the meantime, the Vita would be released bundled with titles such as FIFA and LittleBigPlanet, he said.
"We will be working that very hard over the coming weeks as more and more software arrives."
In related news, during an interview with CVG, Gara hinted that there may be a Vita/PlayStation 3 bundle on the horizon.
“We’d have nothing against that whatsoever, and it’s not out of the question that we would do that this Christmas if we wanted to.”
“There’s no reason why we shouldn’t create a ‘Vita plus PS3′ bundle, which could feature games that use cross-play, as well as include a PlayStation Plus subscription that both devices could use.”
