The Labour Department has finished its investigation into allegations of poor working conditions at Gameloft New Zealand, concluding that the developer was not in breach of the Health and Safety Employment Act.

Last year, programmer Glenn Watson accused his former employer of being pressured into working 120-hour weeks and frequently being required to work weekends.

However, Labour department spokesperson Alisa Mannell has said today that there was “no substantial evidence” of a breach of New Zealand health and safety laws.

Watson has since returned to Australia.

Gameloft has not made comment throughout the process.
