Nintendo Power magazine has played conduit to the announcement of Scribblenauts 2, due this spring in New Zealand.
The game will be a DS exclusive in spite of rumours by developer 5th Cell that the franchise would become available on Wii at some point in the future.
In the original, players controlled Maxwell in a side-scrolling adventure. When foiled by puzzles, they could write nouns such as "tank" on the notepad and these items would then appear in-game, ready for use.
The game will feature a new hint system, 120 “new and improved” levels, a level editor and more than 10,000 words to use.
Gameplanet scored the original Scribblenauts 10/10, highlighting what can be done with videogames when developers prize innovation over glossy trimmings.
