THQ has announced today that it will “fully unveil” its upcoming massively multiplayer game, based on the Warhammer 40K franchise, at E3 2010.

THQ boss Brian Farrell has said that this new title based on the sci-fi tabletop game – already successfully adapted as an RTS courtesy of the Dawn of War series – has the chance of being a “very competitive MMO.”

Vigil Games, the studio behind the successful Darksiders, will develop the title under the guidance of Joe Madureira. Madureira has said that combat will take place on a larger scale than Mythic’s Warhammer Online, 2008’s middling MMO adaptation of the swords and sorcery tabletop game.

Madureira has also hinted at “tons” of customisation options and the “coolest looking characters of any MMO ever.”
