1UP have reported that Sony may announce an entirely new PSP design at this year's E3 conference in Los Angeles.

The rumoured modifications to the existing design include dropping the UMD reader in favour of an internal flash drive with up to 16GB capacity, and the possibility of touch screen integration.

As for the hardware itself, the redesign will include a d-pad, analog nub, and face buttons as part of a sliding unit sticking out below the screen

This new device could be on sale in Japan as early as September if the rumours turn out to be true. Read the full story at 1UP.com.
