We’re extremely excited to finally be able to share with you a very special addition to Gameplanet's Auckland HQ: 46 canvases by Becky Dreistadt entitled Invaded. Each 6” x 6” canvas is painted in acrylic and depicts an iconic character from the past four decades of gaming. Each canvas also represents a pixel that, when arranged, combine to form a Space Invader.

Becky splits her time between the US and New Zealand. She has appeared in numerous exhibitions in Portland, Los Angeles, San Francisco, North Carolina, Melbourne and across New Zealand. Becky recently completed an exhibition tour entitled Tigerbuttah, displaying the painted pages from the faux 1950s Golden Book she created with her partner Frank.

Their webcomic Tiny Kitten Teeth has led to her contributing guest pages to Penny Arcade, Questionable Content, Pictures for Sad Children and numerous others. She has participated in duo gallery shows with prominent pop artists such as Amanda Visell and later this year will host an exhibition with the fantastic Disney feature film artist, Lorelay Bove.

If you’d like to see more of Becky’s work (something we couldn’t recommend more strongly), you can visit the above links, or see it yourself on May 14th when her duo show with Lorelay Bove opens at Gallery Nucleus in Los Angeles. In the meantime, we're very proud to present to you Invaded.

Thanks Becky!
